Am I too old for a boudoir shoot?Absolutely not. The youngest you can be for a boudoir session is 18 and after that there is no upper age limit.
-
I’m very plus size/curvy. Can you work with me?Yes, absolutely. One of the main purposes of a boudoir shoot is to celebrate you for who you are. My boudoir shoots are designed to show that beauty is a mind set and all about confidence and not a body shape. If you are still unsure if a boudoir shoot is right for you please get in touch and I can put your mind at ease.
-
Do you shoot nudes?Yes but only if it is done tastefully. When I do shoot nude, implied nudity is my favourite way to do it.
-
What is your most popular collection? The Album Collection is by far my most popular.
-
Where will my shoot take place? This is entirely up to you and what makes you feel more comfortable. The 3 options that I use are Airbnb/hotel room, your home, on location. If you choose for the session to be in an Airbnb or hotel room then the cost of the location will be added to the boudoir collection that you have chose. Having a shoot in your home is obviously the most convenient for you, plus it's the place where you feel most comfortable but if you have small children or are having the shoot as a surprise gift for your husbands then the logistics can be tricky. The on location option requires more planning as we will need to find an area where boudoir photography is going to be accepted and also make sure that there isn't too much footfall in that area.
-
Can I watch one of your shoots?Generally, no. However, I am planning on recording some behind the scenes of a boudoir shoot with a professional model in the near future...so watch this space.
-
How much does a shoot cost? For full pricing details, please visit the pricing section on my website.
-
Do I have to be naked? No, not if you don't want to. You can wear as much or as little as you want during your shoot.
-
What's your turnaround time for photos?Every session will be turned around and delivered to you within 3 weeks.
-
What are your privacy options?Client privacy is super important to me. As a default I presume that my clients want the highest levels of privacy but I’d be happy to discuss your preferences in detail. If you choose to share some or all of your images, you will always have an opportunity to say exactly what you are and are not comfortable with in terms of which images are shared, how they are used, and whether or not your name is attached. I completely understand the excitement to show off the results of your shoot, and the desire to inspire other women to give it a go. On the other hand, I also understand the many varied reasons why you may want or need to keep your images private. There is no pressure or financial incentive from me either way. I want you to be 100% comfortable, and I’m happy with whatever makes you happy.
-
I've never done anything like this before, how will I know how to pose?"There's no need to worry. If you have no idea idea I will guide and help you, with the knowledge that I have gained from my experiences. Also, looking at other boudoir shoots on the internet is a really good idea to get a sense of what poses you think you'd like to do and we can then discuss this when you turn up for your shoot.
-
Do you photography men?Yes, absolutely. Most men then I photography come in for a couples shoot. However, if you are a man and want a solo boudoir shoot (or dudoir shoot, as it's been coined) then please get in touch and I'd be more than happy to discuss shooting with you.
-
Do I need to bring anything to the shoot other than clothes?Only if you want to. This is something that will be discussed further with you at our initial meeting.
-
I don't know what to wear for my shoot. Where can I find lingerie that will suit me?After you have booked me, you will receive my lingerie with some general wardrobe planning tips, my favourite brands, suggestions for larger cup sizes, and practical lingerie shopping tips.
-
Do you only cover Hampshire? Not at all! The main areas that I cover are Hampshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and London but I am more than happy to travel to your, wherever you are in the country. However, I charge 0.45p per mile if I travel more than 60 miles beyond Basingstoke.
-
Do I have to find a location or will you find one for me?The ideal place to have a boudoir session is at your home as this will be a place where you feel most comfortable and it will work out cheaper for you. However, I understand that this isn't always possible or perhaps you just want a particular style of shoot that needs a grand hotel or an outdoor location for example. If this is the case I have a number of hotels and Airbnb's that I've shot at before but if you have a particular place in mind then I would be more than happy to shoot there.
-
Do you sell larger, framed prints that can be hung on the wall?"Absolutely. I have a variety of print options that can be framed. If you'd like to have one (or 2 or 3) then click here to view my pricing chart.
-
Can I have a female photographer?Unfortnately not. Leather & Lace Boudoir operates with a team of one, that's me Daniel Thomas. I am very friendly and professional but if you are still unsure whether you want a man to photograph you then the initial consultation will hopefully put you at ease. This initial consultation is non commital and just a great way for you to meet me and get to know and trust me. And if you decide that you don't want to book me then at least you would have got a free coffee and slice of cake out of it :)
-
Do I have to pay a deposit?Yes, all of my collections require a booking fee of 25% with the remaining balance to be paid the day before your shoot. This booking fee is non-refundable.
-
I'm a model who is trying to build their portfolio, can you help?"Yes, absolutely. Please get in touch for more information.
-
What should I expect when I arrive for my session? When you arrive, we’ll first hang up your outfits and then serve you some coffee or tea and some cake and biscuits (don't forget to tell me which ones are your favourites or any allergies of dietary requirements). So this is your time to relax. We’ll look through your outfits and plan the order in which you’ll wear them. There will be music playing (by all means create your own playlist) and refreshments throughout the shoot…and a completely relaxed atmosphere. You should expect to have fun!
-
How do I book you?You can send me an email directly to: hello@leatherandlaceboudoir.co.uk or you can visit my contact page. I aim to reply to all enquiries within 24hrs. If you haven't heard from me within that time then your email might have gone into my spam folder so in that case text me on: 07815527249, telling me your name and why you are texting.
-
How far in advance should I book?As long as I have availability, I can take booking 2 weeks beforehand for shoots at your home. However, if you want a shoot at a hotel, Airbnb or location then you will need to book at least one month in advance in order to book the shoot location.
-
Can I do my own makeup?Of course, you can do your own makeup but makeup for photography is very different from the makeup you would normally wear every day. For optimal results, I recommend that you allow my professional stylist to do your hair and make-up. Hair & makeup is included in all our packages. However, if you are on a tight budget then you can just pay the session fee, which doesn't include hair & makeup.
-
Where are you located?I live in Basingstoke and have been living here for the last 3 years.
-
Can I bring a chaperone to my shoot?Of courese you can, if it makes you feel more comfortable. As part of my booking process I will meet you before hand so that you feel comfortable and safe around me but bringing a chaperone to a shoot is a good idea if you are aprehensive. If you do bring a chaperone then I do have some rules: please do not bring a frenemy, your boss, or anyone you would not trust with photographs of you in lingerie. Also, please don’t bring anyone you are romantically involved with unless it’s a couple’s shoot.
