I always advise my clients that a boudoir shoot in their own home or an Airbnb works best as there is a greater variety of possible setups and rooms to shoot in. However, sometimes clients want to shoot in a hotel room and this is absolutely fine, we've just got to get more creative.

Generally hotel rooms have a bed and just enough space around the bed to walk. so most of the shots will be on the bed, or using the bed in some way. However, there are still a number of different shots that can be created using this one piece of furniture. There is the obvious lying down poses but also by using the headboard or wall that the bed is up against you can sit up, lean against it or lie down and rest your feet/legs up in the air, these poses can be really dynamic and can be used to show off certain parts of your body, such as your legs.

Resting on the edge of the bed can also lead to amazing results as by the very nature of the poses they create amazing curves and lines that really shows off your femininity.

Some of my favourite shots are created using the windows in a hotel room though. Standing in front of the windows can create really dramatic shadows and the style of shots that are created are more teasing as generally they will be from the elbow up and any part of your body that is facing away from the window will be in shadow.

All in all, shoots in small hotel rooms don't have to be a hindrance and there are loads of options available, it just requires more imagination...which is what I'm paid for, right?
